研出上赤呂色【日本産】(Togidashi Jou AkaRoiro) in Japan

Oil-free and thus well suited to a technique which aims to create a mirror-like finish (roiro (呂色).

If used for this purpose, it creates a uniquely clear, sharp and deep appearance that feels high-class.

It can also be used to show off the underlying wood grain and can be colored with other pigments.

When freshly applied and unpolished, it will be closer to a half-gloss.
