Kourin Urushi is distinct in that the particulate matter within has been made finer through its more rigorous purification and refining process.

Coats of this Urushi are dense and can achieve a glossy finish with fewer coats. Its durability is one of its special qualities: it is exceedingly weather resistant and will retain much of its gloss over time.

It is also used for the restoration of Japanese National Treasures.

If dried after application, it will have a deep, luxuriously full-bodied cadence.
