Williams College students explored our factory to learn about our work!
Williams College students who are in Kyoto Winter Program came to visit our factory. They studied about urushi technique and culture through the lecture by Keikou Nishimura, the urushi painter. So they were familiar with the beauty of it. However with the challenges we are facing in order to pass the tradition to the next generation seemed to have shocked them. But on the other hand, they were very excited to see the Urushi Alaia that Tom Wegener and I have been making. I was happy to share my thoughts with them.
